To investigate the methods and points for disease management from the perspective of lung cancer and as- sist the refinement development of public hospitals. Methods: Based on the big data analysis of different clinical patterns employed for lung cancer patients in the Union Hospital of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, the inherent weaknesses of its opera- tions were uncovered, and corresponding control measures were taken. Results: By controlling the rational use of auxiliary drugs and standardized whole-cycle clinical pathways, as well as the encouragement of the usage of large medical devices, have promoted lean management in the hospital and value-based medical care between doctors and patients. Conclusion: Through the operation analysis of the lung cancer disease, a replicable and promotable special disease management process model is established, which enables a higher quality of healthcare services with reduced costs, thus driving high-quality development of the hospital.
